Coenzyme Q10 is one of our most popular supplements and it's easy to understand because Q10 is an important body substance that has many functions in the body and found in our vital organs. As we get older, the production of Q10 slows down, which means that we may need to add a little extra Q10 for the body to feel good. This is a dietary supplement.

What is coenzyme Q10?

Coenzyme Q10 or just Q10 is one of our most popular food supplements and it is easy to understand because Q10 is an important body substance that has many functions in the body and is found in our vital organs. Q10 is produced in the liver and has similar properties to a vitamin and is found in the highest amount in our vital organs, including all the cells of the immune system and the heart. This substance is also an antioxidant whose task is to protect cells against oxidative stress.

To summarize, Q10 is needed for energy production in all the cells of the body, and is especially important for the heart and brain which both require very large amounts of energy to function properly.

With age (around 30 years), the production of Q10 decreases, which means that we may need to add a little extra Q10 for the body to function normally.

What is Q10 good for?

As I have previously mentioned coenzyme Q10 is naturally present in our bodies but unfortunately production of Q10 is reduced with age. Dietary supplements with this substance can be taken to restore levels and to contribute to normal cardiovascular health, as an antioxidant or to reduce feelings of fatigue.

Skin

We cannot forget that, among the other vitamins and minerals, Q10 is needed to strengthen the skin. The antioxidant effect of Q10 has a positive effect on the condition of the skin. For this reason, it is now widely used in beauty products and beauty treatments as a rejuvenating component that eliminates wrinkles and improves skin tone. It has a great effect on the skin from the inside as well by clearing away free radicals, inhibits skin aging and adds vitality, and by affecting energy metabolism it improves the skin's ability to regenerate (1-3).

Migraine

The effect of coenzyme Q10 on migraine headaches is the subject of intense research. The results of the first experiments are very promising. The latest meta-analysis from 2019 showed that Q10 can significantly reduce the frequency of migraine attacks, however, without affecting the intensity and duration of the pain (4).

Coenzyme Q10 deficiency

Typical symptoms of Q10 deficiency, although not necessarily obvious, are:

*chronic fatigue,

*reduced immunity and physical strength,

*reduced heart efficiency and various disturbances in its function

Where is Q 10 found naturally?

The largest amounts of coenzyme Q10 are found in various types of fish, offal, oils, spinach, whole grain products and broccoli. Regarding fish, it is worth mentioning that the highest content of this compound is found in sardines, mackerel and salmon. This substance is very sensitive to high temperature, and therefore its content decreases during cooking and longer storage, which means that the best the solution, if possible, is to consume the given sources of this substance in raw form.

It is worth mentioning that Q10 is only absorbed in the presence of fats, therefore dietary supplements with Q10 should be taken with or after a meal.

Our Q10 is without the addition of fillers, dyes, preservatives and lubricants.
