Echinacea occurrence

Echinacea is a plant from the American prairie. Available in several different colors and shades. The plant loves sun and heat, and copes well with dry periods. Solhat grows about a meter high. The inflorescences are supported by strong stems. The diameter of the flower is approx. 12 cm. The flowering period is long, from July to September. The flowers attract butterflies and are excellent as cut flowers.

What is Echinacea good for?

It was North American Indians who used various Echinacea species as a natural remedy for example for poisoning, snake bites or insect bites. Immigrants from Europe took part in the Indians' experiences, and at the turn of the century the knowledge spread to our continent.

In some countries sun hat is very popular plant. Especially in Germany, the use of Echinacea preparations is very large. Echinacea contains, among other things: flavonoids in free form, essential oil, glycosides and alkylamines, its root contains, among other things: chlorogenic acid, inulin, glycoproteins, cynarin and amino compounds.

Echinacea- contraindications

Echinacea should not be used by people who are allergic to herbs such as dandelion, marigold, arnica or yarrow. Also people after transplants, with autoimmune diseases and asthmatics should avoid this herb. Not recommended for pregnant and lactating women and small children.

Ingredients: Echinacea dried root ( Echinacea radix )

Dosage: 1 teaspoon of Echinacea for approx. 2dl boiling water. Leave for 10 minutes. Drink 3 times a day, however, for no longer than 2 weeks.

Storage: dry, dark and well sealed.
