Iron bisglycinate is a chelated form of iron, where the mineral is bound to the amino acid glycine. The iron gets a more stable form through the stomach and is absorbed to a greater extent in the small intestine. Iron is very important for our bodies. Iron contributes to: normal production of red blood cells and hemoglobin and contributes to normal transport of oxygen in the body.

Iron deficiency can cause symptoms such as fatigue, weakened immune system and shortness of breath. You may also feel dizzy, have a headache and palpitations. This can be easily prevented by eating foods containing iron or by taking supplements containing iron if necessary.
