What is Lugol's solution?

Lugol's solution is a liquid product that contains both potassium iodide and iodine. The product is rubbed into the skin. Pick up a drop with the pipette and apply to the skin.

Please note that the liquid is brown and can discolour clothes!

Iodine

Iodine is a mineral. There are few natural sources of iodine. Fish is one of the best source of iodine. In addition, salt is often enriched with iodine. This mineral is also found in the soil and in the sea.

Iodine is necessary for the formation of the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These hormones are formed in the thyroid gland and regulate metabolism and reproduction, as well as growth and development in children.

Iodine - contraindications

Allergy to iodine can occur. Use caution with thyroid problems. People with hyperthyroidism should not take this product! Pregnant and nursing mothers should consult a doctor before using the product. Only for external use!
