Cat's claw occurrence

Cat's claw is a spiny vine that grows wild on vines in the Amazon rainforest and elsewhere in South and Central America. The plant can grow very tall and is named after the curved, claw-like thorns that grow on the stem. It is the inner part of the bark that is used as thread-like pieces or as a fine powder.

Cat's claw uses

The local indigenous people of Peru and other parts of South America have long used the bark and root of cat's claw as a tea for health and well-being. The bark contains a variety of active substances such as tannins, sterols, glycosides, fiber, carbohydrates and some protein. Alkaloids that are also found in the inner part of the bark act as antioxidants and help protect cells against oxidative stress.

Cat's claw can also be used on the skin in the form of face water. It stimulates and strengthens the skin, and can be tried on acne skin.
