What is L-Arginine?
L-arginine is a natural compound that supports the body's function on many levels and as an amino acid it is included as a component of protein. With protein-rich food, we therefore get L-arginine naturally and the main sources from food are eggs, milk and meat, but also vegetable sources such as soy, cabbage and nuts.
What is L-arginine good for?
L - arginine in the body is used, among other things, in the production of the protein hemoglobin, which transports oxygen from the lungs out into the cells. Arginine is also involved in metabolism.
In addition to building proteins, arginine contributes to the production of nitric oxide, which is needed in several very important processes. NO, or nitric oxide, dilates the blood vessels and thus helps to maintain the correct blood pressure and provides increased blood flow to the muscles.
Arginine also increases physical performance and stimulates lung function, which is used by athletes and people who exercise regularly. It is also needed for the production of insulin and white blood cells. Therefore, it can improve glucose management in people with diabetes.
It is worth remembering that arginine is very bitter.
