Criollo origin

Cacao Criollo comes from Peru, where it is harvested from the cacao tree and ground into powder at low temperatures, thanks to which it retains all its nutritional values. It occurs naturally in the tropical forests of South and Central America. Prefers a warm climate. It grows on fertile soils, in moist and shady places.

This cocoa comes from ground criollo beans, which means "local origin" in Spanish. These beans are of high quality, without bitterness and the taste is reminiscent of caramel, nuts, vanilla and tobacco in one.

For indigenous civilizations, cocoa was not only a food commodity, but also, above all, a sacred food that helped to connect with the spiritual world.
