What is Cistus Incanus?
Cistus is a shrub that is mainly grown in the Mediterranean area. It catches the eye with its beautiful, colorful flowers, but it is best known for its unique characteristics. Cistus is primarily a rich source of polyphenols, i.e. natural antioxidants that help protect cells against oxidative stress. It also contains flavonoids, fatty acids, tannins (calculated to have slightly more than green tea). The herb can improve the body's overall condition and well-being.
From the leaves, and sometimes also the stems and flowers, infusion and teas are prepared, available in the form of ready-made bags or dried leaves. Cistuste has a slightly bitter, but delicate herbal taste and aroma - its strength can be regulated by controlling the brew length.
