What is Licorice?

Licorice comes from licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra) which belongs to the pea family, it is a shrub that has long roots (8-10 m long). Licorice root thrives in drier climates such as around the Mediterranean, Iran, China and in some parts of North America and Australia.

Active compounds

Licorice root contains triterpene compounds: glycyrrhizin, echinic acid and flavonoids: flavone, chalcone and isoflavone derivatives but also sucrose, resins, starch, betanin and glucose.

Licorice root has long been used in herbal treatment for a number of different contexts, such as for the stomach.

You who suffer from high blood pressure should be careful with the intake of licorice.

Ingredients: Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra radix) 100%

Dosage: 3 tbsp licorice root add to a glass of cold water, cook on low heat covered for 5 - 7 minutes, set aside for 15 minutes, strain.

Drink 1 - 2 tablespoons 3 - 4 times a day.

After 10 days of use, a break of at least two weeks is recommended.

Do not exceed the recommended daily intake.

Storage: Store out of the sight and reach of children, in a closed container at a temperature not higher than 25°C, protected from light, moisture and the influence of foreign smells.
