Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) reaches from 15 to 50 centimeters and can be recognized due to its rather strong smell. Chamomile comes from the eastern part of the Mediterranean and is now popular all over the world. It is characterized by flower baskets 1.5 to 2.5 cm in diameter with white petals and a yellow center. Chamomile is harvested after flowering begins and is successfully used as an ingredient in various medicinal preparations or supplements, as they contain many nutrients.

What is chamomile good for?

It is the chamomile flowers that are most valuable, as they contain a large amount of essential oil and are rich in vitamins and minerals. In addition to flavonoids and antiallergic substances, the flowers also contain phytosterols, phenolic acids, catechin-tannins, polyacetylenes, choline, coumarin and mineral salts.
